PAKISTAN & A STICK LONG DUE.

Pakistan has been showered with carrots & more carrots by all earlier Indian governments, despite decades of their explicit state sponsored terrorism on it. A stick is long due.

Behaviors of individuals, organizations or societies can only be altered through carrot or stick approach. Either a reward or a punishment can only bring in result oriented, visible change, and nations are no exception.

India cannot showcase itself to be ignorant, by being wishful that one fine day Pakistan will be a noble & peace loving state. It amounts to hapless day dreaming, as that dream of a peace loving Pakistan is not happening, at least it did not happen in the last 70 years, while we continued to wait & wish.

If it were just waiting & wishing without any other cost, we can afford to do it for another 70 years. However, we are indulging in this zero sum game, while Pakistan bleeds us every step of the way. The misery they are unleashing inside our nation through fomenting eternal trouble in J&K, and through intermittent terror attacks across length & breadth of this nation is a burden that no nation can bear. The violence they are indulging in, at the international border killing thousands of our soldiers every year, is a pain which no nation should suffer.

Pakistan is the master mind & executor of all terror events leading to the loss of precious life & disturbances in India and there’s a soft & a hard cost to it. It has to be accounted for.

How can we not balance the account and let one nation pay with its soldiers & innocent civilians blood continuously for 70 years ? How long shall we continue to unabashedly count the body bags, lower our heads, and pay out exgratia to the bereaved military families ? How long shall we clean up the blood spilled on our land, and act as if nothing happend the next week ?

Let’s get it straight. Is Pakistan an enemy or a friendly state ? Can there be a dilemma about this position ? Is it too hard to arrive at this decision ?

Once branded an enemy. An enemy state, is an enemy state. As long as that state does not alter its position against India visibly and through its clearly established actions, how can India trust it, for any other form of positioning ?

This rogue nation does not require too many reasons to consider India, as an eternal enemy. Despite its despicable defeats in earlier wars it fought with India, it has learnt no lessons. And, it is certainly ready for another stick treatment. In fact it’s asking for it.

India need not be a reactive nation, however it has to be a decisive one. India need not be a war monger, but has to showcase its military capabilities in protecting its sovereignty & integrity. India need not be a violent nation which believes in ‘an eye for an eye’, but it cannot afford to lose all its organs, in the pursuit of unreciprocated peace. India should not be instigated into a war, it can proactively & patiently decimate the enemy through many forms of offense strategies.

India is certainly incomparable to any other nation on this planet, in reference to patience, endurance & restraint. However sometimes war is a necessity to achieve peace. And wars of today, necessarily need not be fought only with tanks, missiles & guns. Building all forms of costs to Pakistan, must be an immediate actionable.
